Dr. Shchupak
Clinical Psychologist
As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Shchupak brings expertise in psychological assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Shchupak earned her doctorate with a focus on children and adolescents at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and her post-doctoral fellowship at the CARES Institute at Rowan University School of Medicine, working under Dr. Esther Deblinger, co-developer of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Before joining us, Dr. Shchupak was a supervising psychologist and coordinator of psychology at JCCA (FHS), a foster care agency, where she provided clinical services to youth and families and supervised doctoral trainees. She has also offered therapy and assessment services to adults in various settings, including a law enforcement agency and an evaluation and developmental center.
Dr. Shchupak is well-versed in evidence-based treatment approaches, including trauma-informed methods (certified in TF-CBT). She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in her practice and incorporates interpersonal and systems approaches. She has a special interest and training in supporting caregivers with parenting skills. Dr. Shchupak values collaboration with other providers, such as teachers and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive assessment and care.
